Ghanaian presidential election, 1996

The Ghanaian presidential elections were held on 7 December 1996. Parliamentary elections were held on the same day.

This election was the second presidential election for the Fourth Republic. The incumbent, Jerry Rawlings of the National Democratic Congress stood for election for a second term, his final as allowed under the 1992 constitution.
