Lithuania took part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 2007. The national selection process occurs during the show "Mažųjų žvaigždžių ringas" (Young Stars Ring 3), in which young singers aged 10-15 will take part with self written songs.

In 2007, it was won by Lina Joy, with the song "Kai miestas snaudzia (When The Town Is Asleep)".

Dates for the 2008 edition of the show have not yet been set, however Lithuania have confirmed participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008.
