Arthur H. Wicks (
December 24, 1887 New York City- 1985) was an American politician.
He owned a steam laundry in
Kingston, New York. He was a member of the New York State Senatefrom 1927 to 1956 from the 29th District 1927 - 1944, and from the 34th District 1945 - 1956. Between 1949 and 1953 he was the Majority Leader of the New York State Senate. He was an alternate delegate to the 1940 and 1944, and a delegate to the 1948, 1952 and 1956 Republican National Conventions.
October 1, 1953he became Acting Lieutenant Governor of New York, but was forced to resign on November 19from both offices when it became known that he had made frequent visits to convicted labor leader Joseph S. Fay while the latter was incarcerated at Sing-Singprison.
