Cisman Mahmoud ( _so. Cismaan Maxamuud; var. Osman Mahamud, _ar. عثمان محمود) is a sub clan of the Majeerteen clan family, which is, itself, part of the larger subclan of Harti. They all fall under the umbrella of the larger Darod clan. The Cisman Mahmoud serve as the traditional leaders (Boqors) of the Majerteen The Cisman Mohmoud have played an important role in the history of Somalia, contributing to the foundation of the country and playing a role in the Somali peoples development of nationhood and nationalism..
