Polytechnic University of the Philippines College Entrance Test

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines College Entrance Test is part of the admission requirements of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines System, administered to graduates in the Philippines and foreign high schools. For the 2007-2008 Examination, 70,462 individuals took the exam; and the results are as follows:

Application to the PUPCET

Individuals that are considered eligible for the PUPCET should be any one of the following: [http://www.pup.edu.ph/iapply/ How to Apply in PUP] PUP Official Website Application in PUP Section]
# A senior student of any secondary school that is accredited by the Department of Education whose general average is at least 82% or higher in first year, second year and third year; and high school graduates with General Weighted Average of 82% or higher;
# A graduate of any secondary school that is accredited by the Department of Education, or of any secondary school found abroad; or
# Any individual that has been declared eligible to enter college, per the Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) results.

In addition, graduates must not have taken and must not be taking any college subjects. He/she should not plan to take any college subjects before the semester or academic year in which he/she shall take the PUPCET.

The filing of applications for the PUPCET are announced regularly, and are usually in September for the first batch; October-November for the second batch; and January for the third batch.

Exemptions

The following are exempted from taking the PUPCET:

*A graduate of any PUP Laboratory High School (unless they opt to take the PUPCET for entrance scholarship purposes); or
*A valedictorian, a salutatorian, or a first honorable mention in a graduating class of not less than 100 students duly recognized as such by the head/principal of the school where he/she graduated from; and has a weighted average of 85% or better.

PUPCET Results

All PUPCET results are announced at the university's website, usually around March. The lists of qualified students are also posted at the main campus. Aside from these, a notice letter and their corresponding qualifying status is sent to the examiners' mailing address. Finally, individual letters containing qualifying information and further instructions, if any, are sent to the individual examinees.
