Historical Encyclopedia of Western Australia

The Historical Encyclopedia of Western Australia is a project emanating from the Centre for Western Australian History at the University of Western Australia.The origin of the project was from the celebration of the 175 anniversary of the state in 2004.The University of Western Australia Press is in the process of preparing the encyclopedia for publication in 2007.

The two earlier comparable projects were J.S Battye's Cyclopedia of Western Australia in 1912, and Tom Stannages 1981 collection "A New History Of Western Australia'.

The director and editor in chief is A/Prof Jenny Gregory.
