John Murphy was an Irish
soccerplayer during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.
He played for Bohemians during his career in the League of Ireland and made just 5 league appearances for Bohs, all of them coming in the 1975/76 season. He also made 1 appearance for the club in European competition. [Bohemian FC match programme, Vol. 42, no. 3] .
A skilful forward, he is most famous for scoring the winner in the 1990
FAI CupSemi-Final as non-league St. Francis F.C.caused a huge shock by beating his former club Bohemians.
