The discography of American hip hop recording artist Nelly consists of six studio albums, forty-six singles (including twelve as featured artist), two extended plays (EPs), two compilation albums, two collaboration albums, one remix album and sixty-six music videos. The St. Lunatics member, Nelly was signed to Universal Records in 2000 and his debut album, Country Grammar was released that year, and explores the genres of Southern rap.[1] It has been certified nine times platinum by Recording Industry Association of America in the United States, and spawned the singles "Country Grammar (Hot Shit)", "E.I.", "Ride wit Me" (featuring City Spud) and "Batter Up" (featuring St. Lunatics). In 2001, Nelly and the St. Lunatics released their first album as a group, Free City, which received a platinum certification in the United States. Nelly collaborated with R&B group Jagged Edge and boy band 'N Sync, before releasing his second studio album, Nellyville. While still maintaining central elements of hip hop, the album saw him include further elements of pop music.[2] The album featured five singles, including "Hot in Herre" and "Dilemma" (featuring Kelly Rowland), both of which topped the Billboard Hot 100. In 2003, Nelly's single "Shake Ya Tailfeather" (featuring Diddy and Murphy Lee) appeared on the soundtrack to Bad Boys II starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

In 2004, Nelly released two albums simultaneously, Sweat and Suit, which were predominantly of the pop genre,[3] and were certified platinum and triple platinum in the United States, respectively. Six singles were released from the two albums, collectively, including "Flap Your Wings", "My Place" (featuring Jaheim), "Tilt Ya Head Back" (featuring Christina Aguilera) and "Over and Over" (featuring Tim McGraw), which appeared on the singles charts of numerous countries. Sweat and Suit were repackaged together in 2005 as Sweatsuit. The song "Errtime" (featuring Jung Tru and King Jacob) and "Fly Away" were recorded by Nelly for the soundtrack album for The Longest Yard starring Adam Sandler and Chris Rock.

Brass Knuckles, Nelly's fifth studio album, was issued in 2008. Four singles were released from the album, including "Party People" (featuring Fergie), "Stepped on My J'z" (featuring Jermaine Dupri and Ciara), "Body on Me" (featuring Ashanti and Akon) and "One & Only". The repackage also included the single "Grillz", which went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2005. In 2010, Nelly released his sixth studio album, 5.0. The lead single, "Just a Dream", has appeared in the top ten of several singles charts and were certified platinum in the United States. The second single was "Move That Body" (featuring T-Pain and Akon). "Gone" is the sequel to Nelly's 2002 worldwide number one single "Dilemma", also with Rowland, and serves as third single from the album.
