Vue Weekly

Vue Weekly

"Vue Weekly" is an alternative weekly newspaper published in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

"Vue" was founded in 1995 by former employees and owners of "SEE Magazine", upset over losing control of the paper to creditors. "Vue" was partly owned by "The Georgia Straight" for a brief time, but is now privately owned. "Vue" bills itself as "Edmonton's 100% Independent News and Entertainment Weekly".

"Vue" filed a suit against the Canadian government for giving tax breaks for Canadian-owned newspapers to its rival "See" because "See"'s parent company was ultimately owned by US-based Hollinger.

"Vue" is a member of the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies.
