Electoral district of Leichhardt, Queensland (New South Wales)

Electoral district of Leichhardt, Queensland (New South Wales)

Leichhardt, Queensland was a former electoral district for the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales created for the July 1859 election, partly replacing the United Pastoral Districts of Moreton, Wide Bay, Burnett, Maranoa, Leichhardt and Port Curtis in the Leichhardt River region on the Gulf of Carpentaria. It is not to be confused with the former Sydney suburban electoral district of Leichhardt, both ultimately named after the explorer Ludwig Leichhardt. It was abolished in December 1859 with the establishment of Queensland as a separate colony.
