Henry Betterton, 1st Baron Rushcliffe

Henry Bucknall Betterton, 1st Baron Rushcliffe, Bt, GBE, PC (15 August 1872 – 18 November 1949) was a British Conservative Party politician.

Betterton was a lawyer, practising for some years at the Chancery Bar.He was elected as Member of Parliament for Rushcliffe in Nottingham in 1918. He served as a junior minister at the Ministry of Labour in 1923 and again 1924-29.He served as Minister of Labour from 1931 until 1934.

Betterton was made a Baronet in 1929 and was raised to the peerage as Baron Rushcliffe in 1935, which title became extinct on his death in 1949.
