Dansefeber

Dansefeber

Dansefeber is the Norwegian version of So You Think You Can Dance. It was broadcast on TVNorge (Norway) and was hosted by Kjetil Tefke (2006) and Henriette Lien (2006-2007). Adil Khan was the winner in 2006 and Hanna Mjåvatn the winner in 2007.

Dansefeber held auditions in major cities across Norway, looking for the top dancers in each city. All types of dance backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Salsa, ballroom, hip-hop, streetdance, contemporary, jazz, ballet and many other types of dancers can be seen auditioning for a chance to win the grand prize.

Show Format

Dancers audition for a ticket to "Feberdagene" (The Fever Days).

After the first season, the format changed from dancers switching partners every week to one where the top 20 keep the same partner until the show has reached twelve finalists. Between the top 20 and the top twelve, viewers vote based on the couple, rather than the individual. Once the show has reached twelve dancers, the dancers randomly pick their partner's name from a hat as well as their style(s) of dance.

When the season finale comes around, everyone dances with everyone. Both guys dance with each other, both girls dance with each other, and both girls dance with both guys.

Season 1

The first season was hosted by Henriette Lien and Kjetil Tefke. Judges were ballroom/jazz choreographer Jan Ivar Lund, contemporary choreographer Merete Lingjærde, breakdancer Lars Undli and hip-hop choreographer Vibeke Sørlie.

This season, they picked out 16 dancers to perform at the live shows, the same as they did So You Think You Can Dance (season 1).

The winner of season 1 were breakdancer Adil Khan, with Maria Nygård named as the runner-up.

Season 2

The second season was hosted by Henriette Lien alone and judges Merete Lingjærde and Vibeke Sørlie came back, with new judge, the TV-producer Geir Bie. They did auditions in Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim.

This season, they picked out 20 dancers to perform at the live shows, the same as they did So You Think You Can Dance (season 2).

The winner of season 2 were contemporary dancer Hanna Mjåvatn, with Eric Nærbø named as the runner-up.

At the top 12 week performance, hip-hop dancer Mona-Jeanette Berntsen, got injured in the hip-hop routine with Ole Petter Knarvik. Then she could not compete more in the competition, but the judges said since she was injured, she could come back next season and try out. It wasn't a new season, but they made a bigger version, So You Think You Can Dance (Scandinavia).

So You Think You Can Dance Scandinavia

They wanted to make a new season, but make it bigger. Norway invited Sweden and Denmark to make Dansefeber together in So You Think You Can Dance (Scandinavia). Injured Dansefeber (season 2) contestant, Mona-Jeanette Berntsen, ended up as the winner.
