David J. Halberstam

David J. Halberstam

David J. Halberstam (born 7 October 1951) is the EVP/General Manager of Westwood One Sports. Previously, he was the play-by-play announcer for the Miami Heat and St. John's basketball.

In 1999, Halberstam wrote Sports on New York Radio: A Play-by-Play History published by Masters Press.[1]

His article, the 50 greatest announcers of all time, was published on Yahoo! Sports on January 30, 2009.
