Oak Park is a neighborhood of the Mid-City region of San Diego, California. Oak park is mostly residential, and has a high concentration of condominiums. It features the Marketplace at the Grove shopping center.
Geography
Oak Park is centered around Chollas Park, which contains the Chollas Heights reservoir. The neighborhood's borders are defined by Euclid Avenue to the West, Chollas Parkway/Streamview Drive/College Avenue to the North, and State Route 94 to the Southeast.http://www.neighborhoodlink.com/sandiego/oakpark/
Oak park also hosts an indoor swapmeet "fam mart" which has been host to many gang related shootings and police incidents. There is also a good concentration of low income apartment housing and streamview drive has drug rehab centers or "half way" houses that are converted apartment buildings. Most all gangs are represented in the area in one way or the other and the landscape also includes a few areas that are repeatedly vandalized.
