Alasay District

Alasay District

The Alasay District (Alah Say) is situated in the eastern part of Kapisa Province, Afghanistan. It borders Tagab District to the South and East, Nejrab District to the North and Laghman Province to the East. The population is 33,500 (2006). The district center is Alasay, located in its southwestern part. This district has three big valleys: Shibi dara (12 small villages, which is the most populated valley), Masken dara (15 villages) and Alasay dara (21 villages).
The district is located in a mountainous area and is difficult to access all the villages by car.
The district is poor. Only some people have agricultural land, other sources of income are animal husbandry and labor. The health care and the education need improvement.
