Dean H. King (born in
Richmond, Virginia ), is an author of ten non-ficitonal books on maritime history, nautical fiction, and sea adventure. He also has dozens of published articles in New York Times, National Geographic Adventure and many other magazines and newspapers.Early Life and Education
Dean King was born and raised in
Richmond, Virginia and attendedSt. Christopher's School then the University of North Carolina, where he earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in English. He also played on the University of North Carolina's National Champion Lacrosse team.Writing career
After traveling in England and France, King worked for a decade in New York City, where became a contributing editor to "
Men's Life Magazine " and wrote for other magazines, including "Esquire Magazine ", "Travel + Leisure Magazine ", "New York Magazine " and the "New York Times ", before publishing his first books. After writing his first books on Patrick O'Brian, he returned toRichmond, Virginia where he lives with his wife and four daughters.Published Works
