Cartoon Network Invaded

"Cartoon Network Invaded" was a special crossover event that aired on Cartoon Network in the United States on May 4, 2007 and involved a continuing storyline that ran through five different Cartoon Network cartoons: Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Ed, Edd, n Eddy, My Gym Partner's a Monkey, Camp Lazlo, and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. It also aired on Cartoon Network Asia, Cartoon Network Philippines and Cartoon Network Australia on Halloween 2007.

hows

"Invaded" progresses in a continuing storyline that spans five Cartoon Network cartoons:
* "Chapter 1: Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends: "Cheese A Go-Go"
* "Chapter 2: Ed, Edd, n Eddy: "The Eds Are Coming"
* "Chapter 3: My Gym Partner's a Monkey: "That Darn Platypus"
* "Chapter 4: Camp Lazlo: "Strange Trout from Outer Space / Cheese Orbs"
* "Chapter 5: The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy: "Billy and Mandy Moon the Moon"

On May 28, 2007 and June 1, 2007 the event concluded with a mini-marathon of all shows aired back-to-back with their alternate endings. This mini-marathon was also the kickoff for the new summer programming schedule.

Bumpers

In commercial bumpers that first began on April 30, 2007-May 28, 2007, three aliens behind Cartoon Network Invaded have been named. The three eyed, blue muscular alien is called Glog, the skinny, lanky green-yellow alien is named Peaches and the short, red football headed alien called Sklrrvss (Sklarviss is the pronunciation).

Themes

As a crossover event, a number of themes appear in each individual episode.

# The aliens have three eyes, are octopus-like in appearance, and have shape-shifting powers
#* "Cheese-a-Go-Go": The brainsucking alien in the movie Bloo watches
#* "The Eds Are Coming!": The octopus on Rolf's head and on one of Ed's comic books
#* "That Darn Platypus": Rick's alien form
#* "Strange Trout from Outer Space / Cheese Orbs": The alien's robot that the aliens used to re-enter their spaceship
#* "Billy and Mandy Moon the Moon": The aliens that abduct Billy and Sperg
# The aliens are perceived as "brain suckers"
#* "Cheese-a-Go-Go": Bloo believes Cheese is a brain sucking alien just like in a movie he saw
#* "The Eds Are Coming!": While the kids of the Cul-De-Sac are attacking Rolf's house, Eddy warns Ed that the aliens will suck Ed's brain out and they do in "Billy and Mandy Moon the Moon".
#* "That Darn Platypus": Rick Platypus, whom everyone believes is an alien, keeps mentioning that he likes "brain juice".
#* "Strange Trout from Outer Space / Cheese Orbs": When Samson was in the aliens space ship, he thought they were going to suck his brain out.
#* "Billy and Mandy Moon the Moon": At the end of the episode the aliens sucked 5 characters from each chapter (Fred Fredburger, Skip, Ed, Cheese, and Slips). It also is revealed that the Brain Juice in the "My Gym Partner's a Monkey" episode is in fact juice from an actual brain.
# All of the episodes have a similar UFO in them
#* "Cheese-a-Go-Go": Can be seen on a movie poster in the movie theater scene.
#* "The Eds Are Coming!": Can be seen at the end lifting the cul-de-sac into space
#* "That Darn Platypus": One briefly seen in the AV room scene and on the cover of Winsor's magazine
#* "Strange Trout from Outer Space / Cheese Orbs": The ship that abducted Samson.
#* "Billy and Mandy Moon the Moon": The majority of the alien ships are similar.
# References to cheese
#* "Cheese-a-Go-Go": Cheese himself communicates with the aliens.
#* "The Eds Are Coming!": Ed's weird alien sayings have references to cheese, and when he crashed in the playground, he was in what appeared to be a giant wheel of cheese.
#* "That Darn Platypus": Adam says "Who cut the cheese?" and Rick asks him if he wants some cheese.
#* "Strange Trout from Outer Space / Cheese Orbs": The aliens are on a mission to find cheese.
#* "Billy and Mandy Moon the Moon": The aliens want cheese; they also repeat the word "Cheese" like in "Cheese a-Go-Go", with the same distorted voice.
# Morphing
#* "Cheese-a-Go-Go": Bloo thinks Cheese is an alien agent in disguise
#* "The Eds Are Coming!": Ed jumps on Edd saying "I can see through your disguise creature from beyond the stars!"
#* "That Darn Platypus": Rick morphs into his true form
#* "Strange Trout from Outer Space / Cheese Orbs": The three aliens morph into three background characters
#* "Billy and Mandy Moon the Moon": There is a slug-like alien who can turn into a bigger, much more powerful alien. The aliens also turn into werewolves in the episode.
# Four different colored boxes which Frankie delivered in "Cheese a Go Go." each appear individually in a subsequent chapter.
#* "The Eds Are Coming!": A purple box under Jimmy's bed containing what appeared to be muffins, but Sarah said it was "Belly bomb Bon-Bons".
#* "That Darn Platypus": A red box which Slips and Jake look at. Inside was a box of detergent.
#* "Strange Trout from Outer Space": Clam is seen holding a green box. Its contents were never revealed.
#* "Billy and Mandy Moon the Moon": A blue box which Billy's toy Dr. Brainiac receives at the end. It had a sweater with a heart stitched on it. The tag on the box says from Frankie.

Games

Cartoonnetwork.com has five games relating to Cartoon Network Invaded, each based on a different episode:

Outer Space Trace

This is based in the episode "Cheese a Go-Go" of Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends. The game involves tracing stars as they appear on the screen within a certain time limit.

Toy Twister

This is based on "The Eds Are Coming" from Ed, Edd n Eddy. Toys fall from the sky from UFOs and the Eds capture the toys for cash. It has ten levels, and in each level the player must capture a certain number of toys in order to go to the next level, starting in Level 1 with 5 toys and ending in Level 10 with 25 toys. It is also possible to collect junk but that will make the player lose money.

Lighten Up

Based in the episode "That Darn Platypus" from My Gym Partner's a Monkey. The object of the game is to help Jake stop Rick Platypus from placing lights on the football field that will call the aliens. To do that, you must tackle him and grab all the lights while he is unconscious. You must watch out for other animals in the way as well. Once you have collected all the lights, Rick will give up and you will move to the next level.

Beaned

Based on "Strange Trout from Outer Space / Cheese Orbs" of Camp Lazlo, the objective of this game is to hit the aliens with dodgeballs.

Magnetface

Based on "Billy and Mandy Moon the Moon" from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, the premise is that Billy was captured by aliens and now must collect 200 pieces of cheese in three levels to escape them. Luckily, Grim has given Billy magnetism and he can attract magnetic boxes, bombs, and other things necessary to complete the game.

Magnetface appeared after the alternate ending of Invaded on June 1, 2007.
