William Harrison (cricketer)

William Harrison (cricketer)

William Hendy Harrison was a first class cricketer who played 3 matches for Yorkshire County Cricket Club, against Middlesex CCC, Cambridge University and Sussex CCC in 1888. Interestingly, his fourth and last first class match was for the Players of United States of America against the Gentlemen of Philadelphia at Germantown Cricket Club Ground, Manheim, Philadelphia in 1892.

He was born on May 27, 1863, Shipley in Yorkshire and died on July 15, 1939 in Lister Hills, Bradford.

He scored 45 runs at just 6.42 in his career with a top score of 24 in his American match. His runs were in vain as the Players of United States lost by an innings and 281 runs after Arthur Wood plundered 182 and George Patterson 132 for Philadelphia. He conceded 18 runs with the ball without taking a wicket.
