Horace Lambart, 11th Earl of Cavan

The Venerable Horace Edward Samuel Sneade Lambart, 11th Earl of Cavan (25 August 1878 – 9 December 1950) was a soldier and priest.

The title Earl of Cavan was created in the Peerage of Ireland in 1647 for Charles Lambart, 2nd Baron Lambart. Horace Lambart was heir to the title when the Irish Free State was created in 1922. Roger Lambart, 13th Earl of Cavan is the present holder of the title. There is no heir.

Biography

Lambart graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford.

In 1900 he fought in the Boer War.

He was promoted to Lieutenant in the service of the 1st Volunteer Battalion, Oxfordshire Light Infantry.

He was the Vicar between 1908 and 1913 of Holy Trinity, Leaton, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England.

He was Vicar between 1913 and 1918 of Market Drayton, Shropshire, England.

He was Vicar of St Mary the Virgin Shrewsbury from 1918 to 1925.

He fought in the First World War.

He held the office of Archdeacon of Shropshire in 1916.
