WINC is a News/Talk/Sports formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Winchester, Virginia. WINC features mostly "right-leaning" talk and news updates from FOX News Radio. The AM station uses the slogan "The Right Side of the AM Dial", but this is not in reference to its programming, as AM1400 is actually on right side of a dial radio. WINC carries sports from the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens.

History

WINC is owned and operated Centennial Broadcasting.

Richard F. Lewis, Jr. began the operation in 1939 when he, as a California resident, answered an advertisement in "Broadcasting Magazine", in which the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce requested a radio station operator for the community. He formed the Fredericksburg Broadcasting Corporation, and founded station WFVA.

Two years later, Mr. Lewis moved to Winchester and built station WINC. WINC went on the air on June 26, 1941. Lewis would later launched sister station WINC-FM.

In the early 2000s, WINC began featuring mostly "right-leaning" talk and news updates from FOX News Radio. The AM station uses the slogan "The Right Side of the AM Dial", but this is not in reference to its programming, as AM1400 is actually on right side of a dial radio.

WINC carries extensive live sports coverage from the Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore Ravens, University of Virginia and Virginia Tech college football, ACC football and basketball, NFL "Games of the Week", NFL and MLB playoff games, BCS Bowl Games, the World Series, and the Super Bowl.
