Hemoglobin Barts

Hemoglobin Barts

Hemoglobin Barts consists of four gamma chains. It is moderately insoluble, and therefore accumulates in the red blood cells. It is an extremely high affinity hemoglobin that results in no oxygen delivery to the tissues. Hemoglobin Barts is present in the disease Hydrops fetalis.
