Bellavista is a rock band from San Francisco, California, comprising Rex Shelverton, Jeremy Bringetto and Cary LaScala. Shelverton and Bringetto were childhood friends who grew up around Half Moon Bay, in Northern California. Cary La Scala joined the band in 2004. Bellavista are otherwise remembered as three of the final members of Vue.

Vue formed in the late 1990s and released two albums on Sub Pop and an EP on RCA. Between 2001 and 2004, Vue performed with The Rolling Stones, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Franz Ferdinand, The Faint and Trail Of Dead. At the end of 2004, the band went on hiatus, returning as Bellavista in 2006.

Bellavista's self-titled, self-produced debut was released on Take Root Records April 24, 2007.

History

Bellavista was formed by three of the final members of the band Vue.

Vue was a rock and roll band from San Francisco, California in the United States. [ [http://www.timmcmahan.com/vue.htm Lazy-i Interview: May 2003] ] This band was also formerly knows as "The Audience" and released one album, "Das Audience" and several singles on [http://www.goldstandardlabs.com/ GSL records] before changing their name to Vue when signing to Sub Pop Records. The name change came about because a pop group in the UK had started using the name after their American counterparts did, but were gaining some press attention and distribution at the time. To avoid any potential confusion, the members of the band voluntarily changed their name to Vue, which is a French word for "sight".

Vue disbanded in late 2004. Their final show was at The Blank Club in San Jose, California on August 14, 2004.
