World record progression 100 metres breaststroke

This is a list of the World Record progression in the 100 metres breaststroke. The first world record in long course (50 metres) swimming was recognized by the International Swimming Federation (FINA) in 1961, while the women's world record times were officially acknowledged in 1958.
