The Victoria Bridge is the oldest railway
bridgein Malaysia, situated in Karai, at the state of Perak. Constructed between 1879 and 1900 by the Perak State Railway, the bridge was used as a crossing over the Perak Riverto serve the local tin miningindustry. The bridge was officially opened in 1900 by the late Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah I of Perakand the British's Federated Malay StatesResidents-General Sir Frank Swettenham.
