Sveriges Doktorander

Sveriges Doktorander

Sveriges Doktorander (Sweden's Doctorates or SDok) is a national organisation aimed at strengthening collaboration between Sweden's doctoral students and providing a common voice in doctoral student issues.

History

SDok was formed on the 29th of April 1997, due to the demand for a national doctoral student organisation that would contribute to improving research education in Sweden and that would encourage deeper collaboration and increase the exchange of information between the country's doctoral students.

Activities

Through the exchange of information within SDok, more and more Student Unions and Higher Education Institutes have seen the need to employ Doctoral Student Councillors (doktorandombudsman). SDok contributes actively in debating education policy by writing letters to newspapers and other such communications.

It is a member of Eurodoc, the European federation of national organisations of young researchers.
