Traditions

The Bradley Central/Cleveland rivalry has been a huge part of both school bodies as well as the community of Cleveland. The school week prior to the football game is referred to as Spirit Week. During this time, students are often allowed to bypass the dress code and are allowed to wear themed costumes, based on the themed days. The most commonly recurring of these themes is "Spirit Day," in celebration of the school's color, in which the theme is to dress in as much blue as is possible.

Cleveland's Student Section is often referred to as the "Rowdy Raiders" because of the noise and support they bring to athletic events every year.

In July 2009, Cleveland High School adopted an additional set of logos to accompany the traditional block C. The script Cleveland Raiders is pictured here.

Memorial garden

In the fall of 2008, the Leadership class at Cleveland High School announced plans to construct a memorial garden to preserve the memory of all students who died while attending the high school. Cleveland High School has experienced the loss of three of its fellow students in the previous three years, due to car-related accidents.

Community service

  • Cleveland High School was home of the "Tunes 4 the Troops" non-profit organization founded by Kaylee Marie Radzyminski (class of 2009) in 2005.
  • Cleveland High School seniors and juniors recently participated in a 'Community Service Day,' where students helped out at many places around Cleveland. They then received free pizza and sodas.

Cleveland Blue Raider Football

Cleveland High School has one of the most successful football programs in the State of Tennessee. It has the second longest recorded winning streak (54-0 from 1993–1996) in Tennessee high school football history. In the 42 years history of CHS football, the Blue Raiders have achieved four state championships (1968, 1993, 1994, 1995) and only 2 losing seasons.
