Robertine Barry

Robertine Barry

Robertine Barry, pseudonym Françoise, (26 February 1863 – 7 January 1910), was an early French Canadian journalist and publisher and a popular member of Montreal society. She furthered women's rights through her journalistic work as well as being a popular lecturer and supporter of literary and charitable causes.

"Françoise's" major work as a journalist was "Le Journal de Françoise". This was a bimonthly paper she founded and edited from 1902 - 1909. It featured top writers such as Laure Conan (Félicité Angers).
