Archbishop of Cardiff

The Archbishop of Cardiff is the Ordinary of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cardiff.

The archdiocese covers an area of 3,064 km² of the historic county of Monmouthshire, Herefordshire and eastern Glamorganshire (the western part forms part of the diocese of Menevia). The Metropolitan See is in the Cardiff where the seat is located at Cardiff Cathedral.

The Catholic Diocese of Newport (formerly the Diocese of Newport and Menevia) was elevated to archdiocese status as the Archdiocese of Cardiff on February 7, 1916. The current archbishop is the Most Reverend Peter Smith, 6th Archbishop of Cardiff.
