Bridezilla are a five-piece indie band from Sydney, Australia.

The band formed in 2005, and is fronted by Holiday Sidewinder, who also plays rhythm guitar on most tracks. Pia May is the band's guitarist, and Millie Hall plays both the Saxophone and the keyboard. Daisy Tulley is the violinist and the drummer is Josh Bush. In September 2007, the band signed with Ivy League Records and released their debut EP on November 24 2007.

Touring and Press

In 2006/07, their live shows gained them acclaim from the music press, especially after successful support slots for Mercy Arms, Midlake, Snowman [review on [http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/reviews/events/7464/?city=2 fasterlouder] 13 January, 2007] and The Cops [ review at [http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/reviews/events/6816/The_Cops_the_Pip_Branson_Corporation_Bridezilla_the_Annandale_091106/ fasterlouder] 9 November 2006] . They were described as "one of the hottest things to come out of this fair city for quite some time", [ review on [http://www.yourgigs.com.au/reviews/?review_id=91105 ninemsn] 24 August 2006] and such was their growing reputation that in December 2006 Drum Media magazine included Bridezilla as one of the bands to look out for in 2007. [ "Drum Media Sydney", December 19, 2006] In March 2007 the band played at the Playground Weekender Festival music festival.

Further to their debut at the Playground Weekender, the unique [ Bridezilla are described as "looking and sounding entirely different to any other band around right now" in the [http://www.thegreatescape.net.au/line_up/sunday/ Great Escape artist page ] ] band also played alongside international acts such as The Roots, The Magic Numbers and fellow Australians Wolfmother at The Great Escape music festival and supported ARIA award winning band Youth Group in April 2007.

In June 2007, Bridezilla played at Sydney's famous Enmore Theatre with awarding-winning Australian bands Eskimo Joe and Little Birdy over two sold-out nights [ review on [http://lastfm.excite.co.jp/user/albsantos/journal/2007/06/3/441189/ lastfm] June 1 2007] .

In the same month, Bridezilla played a headline show at The Beach Road Hotel in Bondi, Sydney, which led to music paper The Brag describing them as "genius". ["The Brag", June 18, 2007] They returned to the same venue for another headline show in February 2008

The band were featured in the September 2007 edition of Australian Rolling Stone. ["Rolling Stone, September, 2007 edition released August 1, 2007]

Bridezilla supported Architecture In Helsinki across Australia in November 2007. They also played at 2007's Homebake festival in Sydney on December 8 and the Sydney leg of the Big Day Out festival in January 2008.They played at the nationwide St Jerome's Laneway Festivals in February and March 2008.

In March 2008, Bridezilla were the main support for Wilco at the Enmore Theatre and the main support for British India at the AAA concert at Factory Theatre. In June the same year, they headlined the Annandale Hotel for the first time.

In May 2008, the band performed over three nights at the Sydney Opera House as part of the Walking On Air show.

Recordings

The band has recorded with Scott Horscroft at BJB Studios inculding versions of their "expansive, emotionally articulate epic" [ fbi radio third birthday [http://www.rebelrebel.com.au/whatson_wk17_info.html promo] August 26, 2006] "Saint Francine", "Brown Paper Bag", the instrumental "Mr Young", "Forbidden Holiday", "Chainwork", all of which feature in their eponymous debut EP .

On June 21 2007 Bridezilla performed live on MTV show "The Lair", performing "Brown Paper Bag" [ Bridezilla on MTV's The Lair [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaEf5QA2RbI] ] and a shortened version of "Saint Francine".
