Torrington High School is the lone public high school in the city of Torrington, Connecticut; however there is a state technical school nearby, Oliver Wolcott Technical School. The school strives to live up to their four A's: academics, activities, arts, and athletics.

Athletics

The nickname of the Torrington athletic teams is the Red Raiders. Torrington competes in the Naugatuck Valley League. The Boys' Basketball team won the 2006 Division II State Championship. The Boys' Tennis team also won 77 matches in a row.

Music

Torrington High School has instrumental and vocal groups. Instrumental groups include an orchestra, a jazz ensemble, and a symphonic band. Vocal groups are a chamber choir and a concert choir.

Recently, in 2008, the music department made Torrington High School history at the "Heritage Music Festival" in Philadelphia.
