Great Yarmouth VA High School is an English coeducational comprehensive school on 'Salisbury Road" in the town of Great Yarmouth in Norfolk.

Admissions

It accepts around 800 students aged from 12 to 16. It does not have a sixth form; the nearest sixth forms are East Norfolk Sixth Form College and Great Yarmouth College.

History

The former Great Yarmouth Grammar School, which was founded in 1551, became the comprehensive Great Yarmouth High School in September 1981. In 1998 the school was awarded Technology Specialist College Status and in 1999 was designated V.A (Christian non-denominational) reflecting the terms of its Foundation. Both the school and the town share the same shield. The school colours are black and red.

The "High Standard" is the school newspaper which is produced two times a year, around May and November.

Academic performance

It gets GCSE results over the England average. Class of 08 shattered all previous records
