Previous=2006The 2007 Autobacs Super GT Series was be the 14th season of the Japan Automobile Federation Super GT Championship, the 3rd year under the Super GT name. It is a series comprised of Grand Touring race cars divided into two categories: GT500 and GT300. It began March 18 and ended on November 4, 2007 after 9 races.

Major Developments in the Car Factories

In this season, while Nissan and Honda continued to use their Fairlady Z and Honda NSX in last season. Toyota finally replaced all Supra's, which served a very long time in Super GT(and JGTC) series history, into Lexus SC430. When the season was nearly closing, Nissan(more accurately, Nismo, the racing arm of Nissan) announced that they will use the Nissan GT-R in the 2008 season.

*The final race in this season, which held in Fuji, was the 100th Race in JGTC/Super GT history.
*Honda side broke two records in the JGTC/Super GT history, with their ARTA NSX claiming the GT500 titles before the final race, and Takara NSX getting 5 pole positions in the series.
*Starting from the fifth race of the season, as the request of the main sponsor Bandai, Toyota Team Kraft(#35, GT500) renamed their new SC430 "Bandai Dunlop SC430" into "Bandai 00 Dunlop SC430", which 00 stands for the Mobile Suit Gundam 00, the newest series of the Japanese famous SF animation "Mobile Suit Gundam". The colouring scheme also changed to a traditional Blue-Red-White Gundam Color.
