The Grandmaster is a fictional character, a type of Manhunter agent in DC Comics publications that first appeared in "Millennium" #1.

Fictional history

There are many Grandmasters and one Manhunter Highmaster who has been destroyed in "Millennium #6". Long ago in the year 1066, the Grandmaster held dominion on Earth by recruiting humans as "sleeper agents" of the Manhunters to alter history in their own fashion. He was a key factor in the illusiotron device which acted as an illusion of the destruction of the planet Orinda. Hal Jordan was held falsely responsible when accidentally destroying one of Orinda's moons. The old Grandmasters died at the hands of the Manhunter Mark Shaw and is only succeeded by the Highmaster, which died in the last issue of Millennium. The new Grandmaster is Cyborg Superman after taking the role of organically enhancing the Manhunter technology with his own Kryptonian technology.
