Juquitiba is a suburban municipality in the
São Paulo Metropolitan Regionin the southeastern part of the state of São Paulo in Brazil. The population in 2003is 28,458, the density is 54.52/km² and the area is 522 km². This name comes from the Tupi language. The southern part of the municipality are heavily forested with the Serra do Marmountain range, the central and the northern parts are predominantly hilly.
The city was affected by the
1932 Constitutionalist Revolution.
Juquitiba has schools or a collegiate, high schools, churches, banks and a few parks.
