- Treaty of Vienna (1866)
According to the Treaty of Vienna signed on
October 12 1866, the Austrian Empireceded Venetiato the French Empire, which in turn ceded it to the Kingdom of Italy. This represented the final division of the Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia, as Lombardyhad been ceded to the Kingdom of Sardiniaby the Treaty of Zurichin 1859.
