300 North LaSalle will be a 60 story mixed-use building located on the north bank of the Chicago River on the Near North Side community area of Chicago, Illinois. The building will contain 1.3 million square feet (121,770 square meters) of space to include offices, retail shops, restaurants, and public spaces as well as three levels of underground parking. Due to its location on the north bank of the Chicago River, the building will feature a half acre sunlit waterfront public garden with direct access to the river's edge.

Green building

The building's developer Hines has obtained LEED Gold pre-certification, which establishes the building as a major sustainable design development. The plan is to achieve LEED Gold Certification by incorporating environmentally friendly and energy efficient materials and systems. The building is designed to maximize the use of daylight, while minimizing solar heat gain.

Tenants

Kirkland & Ellis, Chicago's biggest and most prominent law firm, is slated to be the anchor tenant, targeted to occupy 28 floors in the low-rise and mid-rise sections of the building [http://www.hines.com/press/releases/07-31-06.aspx] . Other tenants are expected to include the management consulting firm, Boston Consulting Group, the private equity firm, GTCR, and the restructuring and consulting firm, Alix Partners.

Location

Located on the north bank of the Chicago River, 300 N LaSalle is breaking ground in pushing the downtown core further north into the River North neighborhood. The area has predominantly been low-rise turn-of-the-century (1900s) loft spaces that went from industrial, to residential & now new high-rise towers (both office & residential) are sprouting on the numerous parking lots that dot the area.
