Penn Foster College

Penn Foster College is a degree-granting post-secondary distance education institution, located in the United States. The institution was founded in 1890, and was known as International Correspondence School, or ICS. The college was established in 1977 by ICS and was known as The Center for Degree Studies which was located and operated from Scranton, Pennsylvania. Accreditation

Penn Foster College is nationally accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) [ [http://www.detc.org/ Distance Education and Training Council] ] , a nationally-recognized (not regionally so there are restrictions on transferability and recognition from schools and employers) accrediting agency which is approved by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) and recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Academics

The college focuses on associate of science degrees in the fields of business, criminal justice, early childhood education, engineering and computer science, technology, health care, and the legal profession.
