United Nations Security Council Resolution 1593 was adopted by the
United NationsSecurity Council on 31 March 2005,UN document |docid=S-RES-1593(2005) |type=Resolution |body=Security Council |year=2005 |accessdate= 2007-09-06] by a vote of eleven to none with four abstentions ( Algeria, Brazil, Chinaand the United States of America). It referred the situation in the Darfur region of Sudanto the International Criminal Court, and urged all states to cooperate fully.
