Victor José Bisbal Melero (born 2 July 1980 in Ponce, Puerto Rico) is a heavyweight boxer from Puerto Rico, best known to participate in the Olympics 2004.

Amateur career

His Amateur record was 60 wins 10 losses.With only 9 boxing fights and at the age of 19 years he participated in his first international competition , the Pan American Games 1999 Winnipeg, Canada. He won a gold medal in Caribbean and Central American Games, El Salvador 2002, vs Kertson Manswell of Trinidad and Tobago.National champion of Puerto Rico in amateur career.Bisbal won a bronze medal in the same division, at the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, where he lost to the world class southpaw Michel López Núñez of Cuba (Super Heavyweight). He participated in the 2004 Summer Olympics. There he lost in the super heavyweight (+ 91 kg) division by points to Lithuania's Jaroslav Jaksto, the score of the judges was 27-16. Mayor brother of Gerardo Bisbal, heavyweight amateur boxer, winner bronze medal in Caribbean and Central American games in El Salvador 2002 and Cartagena, Colombia in the year 2006, he represent of Puerto Rico in Pan American Games, Brazil, Rio de Janeiro in 2007.

Professional career

After the Olympics the 6'4 , 235 lbs Bisbal turned pro but was KOd in one of his early fights by clubfighter Domonic Jenkins. in 2007 Bisbal joined "Promociones Miguel Cotto", and fought in boxing cards organized by the company. On May 31, 2008, Bisbal was scheluded to fight Matt Green. He won the fight by knockout in the first round.
