History

Founded on Grafton Street, Dublin in 1982, the company extended to Belfast in 1984 with a generalist office housing a small staff concentrating on permanent appointments, industrial and secretarial temporary services. In 1987, a Derry office was opened servicing the requirements of the inner city, a town at the time, and the outlying manufacturing markets mainly in the textile industry.

The opening of Grafton Healthcare in 1989 was followed closely by the early nineties explosive expansion of specialist sector niche businesses at home and the opening of Grafton's first European venture in the Czech Republic in 1994. Expansion continued with Hungary and in Ireland "Blueprint Appointments" which identified the firm as technical recruiters within the IT, Engineering and Construction markets was launched in 1996.

Next openings were in Poland and Chile while in 2000 Grafton Technologies was launched in Europe. Another innovation came in the shape of an nternational search and selection company "Spengler Fox" founded in 2003 and today operational in 11 countries. Simultaneously the Grafton brand entered Slovakia and Lithuania. Grafton also recently acquired Mary B Cremin, an established Dublin recruitment agency, specialised in administrative and support staff

With a portfolio of 5 sub-brands Grafton Recruitment, Spengler Fox, Blueprint Appointments, Grafton Healthcare, and Maryb.ie, 2005 saw the development of a group brand in the form of Grafton ESP, Grafton Employment Solutions Portfolio. This sees the beginning of corporate evolution, which places us in position for sustainable growth, continued innovation and future expansion.
