Salak Expressway or East-West Link MES-E|37 is an extension of Malaysia's Federal Highway from Seputeh to Taman Connaught in Cheras (not to be confused with the East-West Highway route JKR|4 that runs from Gerik in Perak to Jeli in Kelantan)

History

The expressway was constructed on 1992, Meanwhile the first section of the Salak Expressway from Seputeh to Salak interchange (extension of the Federal Highway) was upgraded into six-lane carriageway on 1993. The expressway finally completed and it was opened to traffic on August 1994.

Current events

*1 August 2008 – A lorry carrying boulders crashed into six vehicles at the Salak Expressway (East-West Link), in Taman Connaught, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, killing two and seriously injuring six.
