The Binghamton Fire Department is the fire department for Binghamton, New York, USA.

Binghamton Fire Department Overview

The Binghamton Fire Department is comprised of a staff of 124 paid uniform fire-fighters and three civilian employees.

The department operates out of six stations, as follows:

Station 1 - Engine 21-1, EMS 21-1
Station 2 - Quint 21-2, EMS 21-2, spare rescue
Station 3 - Quint 21-3, EMS 21-3, Ambulance 7123 (reserve)
Station 4 - Engine 21-4, EMS 21-4, Ambulance 7124 (reserve)
Station 5 (HQ) - Car 21 (on duty Chief), Tower 21, Rescue 21, Ambulance 7121, Ambulance 7122 (reserve), Boat 21-1, Boat 21-2
Station 6 - Engine 21-6, EMS 21-6, Haz-Mat 21

The department also operates a separate training facility, including smoke tower, and a repair shop.

Emergency Medical System

* First response from six strategically located fire stations.
* Ambulance transport at the Advanced Life Support/Paramedic level.
* Training level - paramedic and EMT-Defibrillation

Special Operations

All manners of land and aquatic rescue are used such as:

Fire Suppression

Binghamton Fire Bureau stations are manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It has earned a reputation as one of the most progressive fire departments in New York state through:

*Standard procedures for organizing firefighting operations
*Acquisition of state-of-the-art firefighting equipment and techniques
*An Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program started in 1981 now at transporting *ALS/Paramedic level
