Portsmouth West High School (PWHS) is a public high school in West Portsmouth, Ohio in Scioto County in Southern Ohio. It is the only high school in the Washington-Nile Local School District. Their nickname is the Senators, and their school colors are orange and black.

The school district serves residents primarily in Nile Township, which includes Friendship, and Washington Township, which includes West Portsmouth.

Principal - Tony Bazler
Tony replaced Mr. Distel as the principal at Portsmouth West High School. It was pretty big shoes to fill based on Mr. Distel popularity with the community and students, and his overall effectiveness at running PWHS. Tony stepped up to the task and worked hard.

Assistant Principal - Eric Nichols
Generally seen as a good administrator and a fair and honest man.
