Pappoos 1

Pappoos 1

Pappoos 1 is a walking trail that links North East London to Cambridge and The Wash

Stretch 1 : London to Cambridge

From North East London (Tottenham Hale station), or as far afield as the Thames (at Bow/Docklands/Hackney or ...) the trail follows the canal up to the branch at Hoddesdon, where much of the traffic turns left to Ware and Hertford, turning right to follow the River Stort Navigation as far as Bishop's Stortford. From Bishop's Stortford various footpaths lead up to and follow the embryonic River Cam as far as Cambridge.

Stretch 2 : Cambridge to The Wash

From Cambridge the waterways followed, as the Fen Rivers Way, are the River Cam and shortly the Great Ouse to just below the historic city of Ely, with its historic cathedral. From here we can continue following the Fen Rivers Way down the course of the Great Ouse as far as the Wash, or alternatively we can follow minor roads to the Bedford Rivers.
