David "Dave" Berry (born 14 September 1978) is a British presenter and former model from Charlton, London, England. He is currently working with Blokely, ITV and 95.8 Capital FM London.

Career

Dave's first job was as a sales assistant at High Flyers men's fashion store (now closed down) in Greenwich, South East London, where he was top salesman for four years in a row (the previous highest record was three years, and until Berry set the new record the previous one had stood ever since 1970). He left his sales job in 1996 to manage another Greenwich-based fashion retailer, Bullfrogs Clothing. Around the turn of the century, Berry began his career modeling for high profile brands such as Ted Baker, French Connection, Armani, Toni & Guy and Charge Clothing, before moving into television presenting as a regular face on Nickelodeon UK and gaining a BAFTA nomination for n-List[1]

Television

After being a presenter on Nickelodeon (UK), in 2002 he became the main presenter of the signature MTV UK flagship progamme TRL UK, which aired for three years, ending in December 2005. Whilst at MTV, he also hosted coverage of the annual MTV Europe Music Awards.

From April 2005, he presented CD:UK on ITV1 when Cat Deeley left to present Stars in Their Eyes. He was later replaced by Myleene Klass, Lauren Laverne and Johny Pitts in September 2005. Since then he's worked on numerous projects for Channel 4, including Football Anthems, HomeMade which aired for one series with guest show host Mark Boardman, I'm With The Band, Take Away My Takeaway and The Deadly Knowledge Show. In addition, Berry has hosted Channel 4 coverage of the music concerts Carling Live 24, Vodafone TBA and V Festival (2005 & 2006).[2]

In 2006 he began hosting "The Deadly Knowledge Show" on Channel 4, a game show featuring students as contestants.

Other presenting work includes Only Fools on Horses on Three, for BBC Three, the documentary Sure Fans United for ITV1 The Brit Awards: Red Carpet/Party On for ITV2. Make Me A Supermodel (the live final), Pop City Live and Tsunami Aid were all broadcast on Five.

Berry has appeared as a guest on Rob Brydon's Annually Retentive, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Big Brother's Little Brother, Loose Women and Celebrity Juice, and twice featured on MTV Cribs. He's appeared regularly as a talking head on a number of celebrity based documentaries and has presented many Movie junkets.

Berry hosted the 2009 World Free Running Championships in Trafalgar Square on Saturday 15 August, covered by television stations in UK and US.

Berry was a showbiz reporter on ITV's This Morning. He co-hosted the ITV2 coverage of the Isle of Wight Festival in June 2010 and also presented the iTunes Festival on ITV2 in 2010 and 2011.[3]

He presented The Beat Goes On for Channel 5 which begun on 24 August 2011.[4]

Radio

He presented the Vodafone Live Hour on commercial radio networks and, from January 2007, had hosted his own show on London based Capital Radio on Saturday afternoons. Initially aired from 2-5pm, from 15 September, it moved to a later time of 4pm - 7pm. Come January 2008, it was reported Berry would join XFM to present a show on Saturdays between 2pm and 6pm. Shortly afterwards, Dave progressed to XFM's drivetime programme transmitted every weekday afternoon from 3pm to 7pm. He presented at this time till 18 January 2010, when he then moved to the breakfast slot. On 3 April 2011 it was announced he would move back to Capital Radio (now known as 95.8 Capital FM), to present the weekend morning slots from the end of the month - leaving XFM.[5] His final show on XFM was broadcast on 15 April 2011. Berry's current 95.8 Capital FM show features Buttons Sam, Posh Faye and Producer Ben (a radio producer). In August 2011 he begun as a stand-in presenter for Johnny Vaughan on Capital Breakfast with Johnny and Lisa.

Mobile

Dave is also co-hosting The Hot Desk for ITV Mobile - a music show available on mobile phones.

Journalism

Berry began to contribute to online men's lifestyle magazine Blokely, in April 2011.[6][7]

Personal life

Berry has been in a relationship with the Sugababes singer Heidi Range since 2003. On 4 January 2010 it was announced that the couple got engaged on New Year's Eve 2009.[8] Berry is a supporter of Charlton Athletic. Berry has spoken on his radio show about being a fan of vintage computer games and Toby Jugs.
