Khabibullo Abdusamatov

Khabibullo Ismailovich Abdusamatov ( _ru. Хабибулло Исмаилович Абдусаматов; with initials transliterated either H.I. or K.I.) is the supervisor of the [http://www.gao.spb.ru/english/astrometr/index1_eng.html Astrometria] project of the Russian section of the International Space Station and a researcher at the laboratory of solar physics [http://www.gao.spb.ru/english/staff/dsp/lsp.html] at the Saint Petersburg-based Pulkovo Observatory ( [http://www.gao.spb.ru/english/ link] , [http://www.encspb.ru/en/bigimage.php?kod=2803981268 photo] ) of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He is a global warming skeptic.

Abdusamatov claims that "global warming results not from the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, but from an unusually high level of solar radiation and a lengthy—almost throughout the last century—growth in its intensity." Abdusamatov also contends that even the natural greenhouse effect does not function, stating "Ascribing 'greenhouse' effect properties to the Earth's atmosphere is not scientifically substantiated." He has stated that more work is needed to model the effect.
