The Last Show On Earth

The Last Show On Earth

The Last Show On Earth (TLSOE) is a comedy webisode show about four characters thrown together by circumstance. Though the circumstances under which they were thrown together is wholly unclear, they somehow seem to fit well together.

Characters

Max: Max is a character that comes from the Star Trek universe, and is rarely seen without his trusty phaser and tricorder. He is irritable, over-the-top, and is killed fairly often. He supposedly is the one who was sent to destroy Nigel's race, the Nigelese, many years ago. It is also known that Max fears shoes.

Per: Per was tragically diagnosed with the extremely rare disease "Stupid-itis" as a kid, and was prescribed a magic hat by Jose Del Fuego, M.D. (See Below). As soon as he put on the hat, he gained the knowledge of his psychic powers, but unfortunately, they too were numbed by the hat's mere presence on his head. It is therefore assumed that if Per's hat were ever to come off, not only would he once again be struck with a relapse of Stupid-itis, he would also gain back his psychic powers and presumably destroy a whole lot of stuff for fun. He is tall, quiet, and indifferent.

Jacob: Jacob seems relatively normal, but his vest is not. Whatever Jacob is looking for mysteriously appears in one of the inner pockets of his vest. He also believes himself to be a ninja, and often flaunts his combat skills, regardless of how skillful he actually is. The others live in his house (although he only knows Nigel is living there), and they are most often seen together on his dark blue couch.

Nigel: Nigel is the lone surviving member (supposedly) of an alien race known as "The Nigelese". This mysterious race operated as a collective consciousness, sharing all their knowledge between them. When Max then wiped them out, Nigel was left almost nothing in the way of intelligence, and often acts in a random and obnoxious manner. He resides in Jacob's closet, uncomfortable as it is.

Minor Characters

Einstein: This action figure, carried by Nigel, is actually a miniaturized robot, supposedly containing the personality of one of his Nigelese ancestors. He speaks with a bad German accent.

José Del Fuego, M.D.: This "doctor" appears in a flashback to Per's childhood, when he was diagnosed with Stupid-itis. An unnamed relative of Per's also appears in this scene, totally buying the quack doctor's advice.

Shifty Russian Man: When Jacob was traveling in Russia, a man in a trench coat approached him, inquiring: "You want to buy vest?". Jacob subsequently traded his watch ("It will make great detonator") for the vest, not having his wallet with him. When asked about the quality of the vest, he could only respond: "Guarantee good only in Soviet Union."

The Ghost Of Fred Durst: This former Limp Bizkit frontman (who is now apparently a ghost) lives in the house that Nigel moved into after he left Jacob's house. He steals Nigel's bagels, and generally acts in an annoying manner. He speaks in a deep echoing voice, much unlike his whiny real-life self.

Tim The Techie: Tim makes all sorts of things for the TLSOE crew, but they never really work out the way they originally were meant to. In one case, Tim promised them a jeep, but instead built a dimensional travel machine.

The Last Villain On Earth: A former member of Nigel's TMBG Cult, this villain has sworn eternal vengeance on the TLSOE crew, basically over nothing. The point is he's a recurring villain, and that's awesome.

Pop Culture References

Episode One: The Theme - The characters attempt to decide on a theme song for themselves, and run through several different ideas. Their ideas put their characters into roles in: "Justice League", "Stargate SG-1", "The A-Team", "Shaft", "Inspector Gadget", "Highlander", and "Austin Powers"

Episode Two: The Story - This episode had no pop-culture references, and ergo wasn't that funny.

Episode Three: Bad Things Happen - Nigel mistakes "Zombie Powder" (as from the manga) for fabric softener. - Max shouts "Orcs!" as he fires his crossbow.

Episode Four: Rollin' - The TLSOE crew resembles the Ghostbusters in their investigation of Nigel's new house. - In a solo scene, Max portrays the style of The Blair Witch Project. - The 'Vac-U-Suck' back pack that Jacob wears has its name taken from the Mega-Maid in Spaceballs.

Episode Five: Money Business - Jacob wears a sand headband from the popular anime/manga Naruto. - Nigel starts a cult based on the unusual lyrics of the band They Might Be Giants. - Max creates Max-Opoly Money, a just-as-worthless take-off on Monopoly Money. - Max shouts "Romulans!" the instant Jacob declares him to be "not a nerd".
