"Amalda depressa", is a small sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Olividae, the olives.

Range of distribution

This species is endemic to New Zealand. It is found around the North Island and the northern part of the South Island.

Habitat

This olive is found on fine sand, both intertidally and in the shallow subtidal zone.

hell description

The shell is rather small, very solid, and similar to "Amalda australis" in coloration, but with a shorter spire, and a wider body whorl, the outer lip projecting beyond the spire outline.

The shell height is up to 18 mm, and the width is up to 11 mm.
