German submarine U-29

German submarine U-29

"Unterseeboot 29" or "U-29" has been the name of several German submarines or U-boats during World War I, World War II, and in the post-war Bundesmarine.

* Unterseeboot 29 (1913) was a submarine built in 1913 for service in World War I, and sunk in 1915. Famously it was the only submarine ever sunk by a battleship.
** During World War I, Germany also possessed the submarines:
*** Unterseeboot B-29, built in 1916 and sunk in 1918.
*** Unterseeboot C-29, built in 1916 and sunk in 1917.

* Unterseeboot 29 (1936) was a submarine built in 1936, and scuttled in 1945 during the last days of World War II.

* Unterseeboot 28 (S178) was a submarine built in 1974, and decommissioned in 2004.
