The Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, formerly known as CR State College of Engineering (CRSCE), Murthal started functioning from the Academic year 1987-88 and is the first Government Engineering College in the State of Haryana.

History

The Institution started initially with two disciplines in Mech. Engineering & Electronics & Communication Engineering with an intake of 30 students in each branch. Subsequently, various discipline were added and at present there are 8 under graduate courses and 3 P.G. Courses. The various under graduate courses are Computer Sc. & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication. Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Architecture, Bio-Technology, Bio-Medical, P.G. courses are in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering & MBA (IT). There is sanctioned intake of 370 students in under graduate courses and 66 in P.G. courses. All the courses of the college has been approved by the AICTE and the college was affiliated to M.D.University, Rohtak for the purpose of conduct of examination and awarding of degrees.

Keeping in mind its contribution to technical education, the Government of Haryana upgraded the college to Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science & Technology on 30th October, 2006.Currently admissions to all UG courses is through AIEEE. It is the most sought after engineering college in the state.

Location

DCRUST, Murthal is located on National Highway No. 1 at a distance of about 50 km. From I.S.B.T., Delhi and at a distance of about 8 km from Sonepat Railway Station. The sprawling campus of the College has been developed on convert|273|acre|km2 of land which falls within the industrial and commercial belt extending from Kundli to Panipat. The site has a strategic location in that it is near the National Capital while being in the clear unpolluted environment of the country side.

The university has a pretty good placement record with more than 80% of the final year students getting placed with reputed companies like TCS, Tech Mahidra, Headstrong, Sapient, Samsung, Globallogic, Satyam, Infosys, Accenture etc.
